21st Century Community Learning Center

Lights Are On Afterschool

The Minnesota Department of Education recently awarded our district a three-year, $622,000 grant to implement 21st Century Community Learning Center afterschool programs. The initial award period is for 3 years. Our district expects to impact attendance, behavior and academic success through 21st CCLC programs aligned with daytime learning. Programming will be offered to grades students in grades 1-12 before and after school and on vacation and early release days. Kindergarten students are included in family events and activities that will be offered throughout the year.

What are your ideas about afterschool time? A Parent Advisory Committee is being formed to guide program development. Your participation is needed to create and maintain a well-rounded and high quality program. Contact Cheryl Meld, 218-768-5139 or cmeld@isd4.org with questions or to get involved.
